Anacor Pharmaceuticals (ANAC), a biopharmaceutical company, focuses on discovering, developing and commercializing novel small-molecule therapeutics derived from its boron chemistry platform. This stock closed up 6.6% to $16.90 in Monday's trading session.
Monday's Volume: 2.22 million
Three-Month Average Volume: 425,667
Volume % Change: 412%From a technical perspective, ANAC gapped sharply higher here back above both its 50-day moving average of $15.97 and its 200-day moving average of $16.50 with monster upside volume. This stock recently formed a double bottom chart pattern at $14.95 to $15.11. Since tagging that bottom, shares of ANAC have started to rip higher and move within range of triggering a big breakout trade. That trade will hit if ANAC manages to take out Monday's intraday high of $17.03 to $17.62 and then once it clears more near-term overhead resistance at $18.73 with high volume.
Traders should now look for long-biased trades in ANAC as long as it's trending above Monday's intraday low of $16.15 and then once it sustains a move or close above those breakout levels with volume that hits near or above 425,667 shares. If that breakout kicks off soon, then ANAC will set up to re-test or possibly take out its next major overhead resistance levels at $21.27 to $23.07.

It's also important not to get too excited here. This is a regional amusement-park operator, and most of its properties were closed during the quarter. The real test for Six Flags and rival Cedar Fair (NYSE: FUN ) -- which reports in two weeks -- will be the next two quarters as summer kicks in.

Whilemost investors probably overlook the theme park sector, theme park stocks like SeaWorld Entertainment Inc (NYSE: SEAS), Six Flags Entertainment Corp (NYSE: SIX), Cedar Fair, L.P. Lori Shepler/AP A financial windfall will accompany LeBron James when he returns to northeastern Ohio. Following the NBA superstar's decision over the weekend to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cuyahoga County officials estimated that the local economy will benefit to the tune of roughly $500 million a year. A little more than half of that windfall will come from the games themselves as ticket sales spike with fans willing to pay more -- and more often -- to see James play near his hometown of Akron. The balance will come from tourism and the exposure that comes from TV coverage that will gravitate to Cavaliers home games. Some experts, though. caution that the real revenue will be far less. However, an unlikely winner from James' move may be of the country's largest amusement park operators. Please Secure All Loose Belongings Just 62 miles separate the Cavs' arena and Cedar Fair's (FUN) Cedar Point amusement park, on a scenic peninsula in Sandusky. Last Wednesday -- two days before James made his big announcement that he would leave the Miami Heat after four seasons -- Cedar Point made an interesting Twitter post: "Hey @KingJames - come back to the @cavs and we'll rename one of our coasters, 'King James!' Ball in your court, sir. RT, #Ohio!" It wasn't just talk. Shortly after James announced his decision to return home, Cedar Point promised to live up to its earlier promise: "It's been fun to watch the excitement surrounding the return of @KingJames to Cleveland. We stand ready to honor our original tweet." James has been to the park a couple of times, and there's a YouTube video of him being heckled there while taking in a game of hoops -- naturally, after he had left Cleveland for Miami. However, the initially radical thought of renaming a coaster King James now sounds like a winning move with the game's best basketball player coming back home as a prodigal son. That should be good news for Cedar Point and possibly even better news for Cedar Fair.

As the year draws to a close, theme park stocks like SeaWorld Entertainment Inc (NYSE: SEAS), Six Flags Entertainment Corp (NYSE: SIX), Cedar Fair, L.P. The Super Store segment operates general supermarkets, food supermarkets and specialty stores. The Department Store segment operates department stores with a focus on Seibu. The Financial-related segment is engaged in the banking service, credit card and electronic money services. The Others segment is engaged in the information technology (IT) business. Advisors' Opinion:- [By Jim Jubak]
If you're a trader, you try to catch these ups and downs. If you're a longer term trader, you sort of go with Japanese equities. The one that I've got in Jubak's Picks is Toyota Motor, (TM), which trades in New York as an ADR. You can also go with something like Torre Industries (TRYIF), which trades as an ADR in New York as well as on the Tokyo exchange. They're the world's largest maker of carbon fiber, good play on exports to the aircraft and car industries. Or you can do something like Seven & I (SVNDY), the Japanese company that owns 7-Elevens around the world. So, those would be my ways to play a weak yen if you want to use Japanese equities for the week and the year ahead.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Amanda Alix]
On the mortgage front, Two Harbors notes that it has acquired a passel of prime jumbo home loans, which it likely plans to securitize. The company's CEO, Tom Siering, also addresses this issue on the earnings call, where he states that the trust was involved in a $400 million securitization of prime jumbo loans. This puts Two Harbors in the company of mREIT Redwood Trust (NYSE: RWT ) , which has nearly single-handedly brought back the jumbo-loan securitization market over the past two years. If Redwood's success is any indication -- it recently reported first-quarter net incomeof $61 million, compared to the year-ago figure of $30 million -- Two Harbors is on the right track.

Luxury market is doing just fine
Jumbo loans are back, and these mortgages -- which start at $625,000 in some affluent areas -- are being given out like candyto those with the wealth to back them up. Once considered risky because they are not backed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, lenders are falling over themselves to make these loans, driven by a securitization market dominated by entities like Redwood Trust (NYSE: RWT ) and JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM ) . Earlier this month, Redwood offered its seventh securitization backed by jumbos, and JPMorgan just recently announcedits second offering of the year, as well. - [By Rich Duprey]
